GodslayerI do my best sometimes not to abuse the fact that I run a wildly popular Kickboxing site (most would say the most popular one in the world, oddly enough) and also do a whole lot of other things. I've done my best in not blatantly promote some of my work (you'll notice my band over most podcasts, sorry), but there comes a time when you gotta do what you gotta do.

So I've been writing about combat sports for the better part of the last ten years now, sometimes in strange, obscure locations, other times in some very visible and cool places. The fact that you are here means that you've read some of my stuff before. Along the way I've made a lot of great friends inside of the industry, everyone from journalists to fans to fighters and promoters. My thing is that I write fiction and honestly I never expected them to overlap, but in this case, they did. I started a short story about a retired fighter and how the industry looked from his eyes and before I knew it I was writing an entire novel about him and his relation to his family and his career as a fighter.

After a year of negotiations with agents, publishers and a bunch of other people, I decided just to release it on my own. Sure, it is more of a gamble, but the facts are that I can do it my way, sell it for cheaper and promote it myself. There aren't a lot of people in the publishing world who really get the fight industry and outside of Tank Abbott's quasi-fantasy-autobiographical novel, there isn't much of a precedent for a work of fiction about a MMA fighter.

It is available now on the Amazon Kindle store for $3.99 USD. I suspect within the next few days it will begin popping up on the Apple Bookstore, Barnes & Noble and more. If a hard copy is more your flavor, it should be available via Amazon some time next week. I thank you and everyone else for all of their support.
