The month of February has already started and a substantial event in Thai Boxe Mania has already taken place, but that doesn't mean there isn't some other great action this month. The big boys don't have any shows this month but there's a bunch of smaller shows in terms of recognition, most notably SuperKombat and FighterZone that have some great fights happening. The five fights selected for this month are all over the world, from the USA to Singapore and from the Netherlands to Thailand. Not all in the same place, they also won't all be the under the same rules. Click "Read More" to see five great fights we've picked out to keep an eye on this month.

Joe Schilling vs. Simon Marcus - Lion Fight Promotions "Battle in the Desert 5", February 25, Las Vegas

This is really a great fight, especially for Muay Thai in North America. They're the two top fighters in North America around their weight range, where Schilling is the interim WMC World Champion at 175lbs/79.379kg. Artem Levin is the WMC World Champion and Schilling would love to get his hands on him but first, Simon Marcus is standing in his way. Marcus defeated Artem Vakhitov at the MPL's inaugural event and picked up a win in China at the end of last year while Schilling's last win was a first round stoppage of Kaoklai Kaennorsing. What makes the fight even better is that it's a winner takes all fight, meaning the winner walks away with all the money while the loser walks away with nothing. Schilling's aggressive style always makes for action packed fights so there's no doubt that this should be a good one.

Andy Souwer vs. Naruepol Fairtex - Fightzone Kickboxing World Series MAX, February 25, Singapore

Andy Souwer isn't waiting around for the big boys to give him fights so he's taken a fight in a brand new fight promotion against the long time stablemate of Yodsanklai Fairtex, Naruepol Fairtex. Naruepol isn't too familiar with K-1 rules. He last fought and won on June 18 in China against Jonay Risco and a welcome back after a long layoff by Andy Souwer is a very tough test for anyone. Naruepol is always a game fighter though and if he ignores the K-1 rules a bit and uses the clinches, he could give Souwer some trouble like Pajonsuk did at the end of 2010. Seeing Souwer fight is always a treat and with an opponent that won't be a pushover, it should be a very interesting fight, though Souwer will probably win.

Faldir Chahbari vs. Harut Grigorian - Vuisten Van Vuur, February 26, Den Bosch, Netherlands

Harut Grigorian is coming off a dominating win over Chris Ngimbi and a month after he'll be facing a formidable opponent in Faldir Chahbari. Harut is very aggressive and Chahbari will throw right back with counter combinations so this has the potential to be one of those great Dutch-style combination battles. Chahbari has been rather quiet for the past few years but he's a very game opponent with tons of experience that can still hang with good fighters. Grigorian is on the come up and a win over Chahbari would keep his momentum going. Expect combinations to be traded back and forth in a tactical manner that will provide excellent action.

Robin van Roosmalen vs. Rachid Belaini - Vuisten Van Vuur, February 26, Den Bosch, Netherlands

Chahbari vs. Grigorian isn't the only good fight on this card. If you like brawls and guys trying to take each other's head off, then this is the fight for you. Belaini is older but he always comes to fight aggressively throwing power shots and he can take a shot too. Robin van Roosmalen relentlessly comes forward and also throws power shots that have seen him knock out Artur Kyshenko. This has all the makings of an action packed fight, even if Belaini is getting beat down. Robin will probably win but it should definitely be fun.

Sudsakorn Sor Klinmee vs. Youssef Boughanem - Europe vs. Thailand, February 27, Pattaya, Thailand

Sudsakorn Sor Klinmee returns quickly after a win over Marco Pique at Yokkao Extreme to fight in Pattaya, where he's based out of. He'll take on Youssef Boughanem, who had a solid showing in the 2010 Thai Fight tournament. He's no stranger to tough competition, as he's faced Buakaw Por. Pramuk and Fabio Pinca. He's been fighting in Thailand recently and with the fight being in Thailand, we finally get to see Sudsakorn in a 5 round fight which he hasn't fought in since just over a year ago. Sudsakorn had conditioning issues against Yury Bessmertny and there's a chance he'll take Boughanem lightly like he seemed to do at the Fight Code tournament final. We'll get to see Sudsakorn's full game for 5 rounds.
