Marc De Bonte vs. Joseph Valtellini Added to Last Man Standing PPV

  • Published in Glory

Last Man Standing

We already knew that Daniel Ghita and Rico Verhoeven would battle it out at GLORY 17's Last Man Standing PPV event for the GLORY Heavyweight Championship, but now it looks like there will be three titles decided on the Last Man Standing PPV. Sure, we'll have a Middleweight and a Heavyweight Champion crowned, but it looks like Marc De Bonte gets what he asked for in getting to defend his GLORY Welterweight Championship against Joseph Valtellini at the Last Man Standing PPV.

Add in a Featherweight Championship tournament on the GLORY 17 Spike TV card, as well as Andy Ristie vs. Ky Hollenbeck and Cro Cop on the card and you have a ton of reasons to be watching on June 21st.

Last Two Bouts Official for GLORY Last Man Standing

  • Published in Glory

With two of the bigger fights for GLORY's Last Man Standing tournament already announced it comes as no shock to see the third matchup being Wayne Barrett vs. Bogdan Stoica. Both men have strong ties to their homes with rabid fans and are ready to prove themselves as the best in the world. Stoic is from Romania, best known for his fights in SuperKombat, and Barrett best known in the New York Muay Thai scene, with his win over Joe Schilling last year making headlines.

The fourth matchup is of course Artem Levin vs. Alex Peireira. Artem Levin is, of course, one of the best in the world at this weight class and has been for years. This makes for a big fight for Peireira, but it's hard to count him out, especially after winning the GLORY 14 Middleweight Contender tournament.

Last Man Standing goes down on June 21st in Los Angeles, directly following GLORY 17 on Spike TV.

Free Unlocked Video: GLORY 11 Chicago - Rico Verhoeven vs. Daniel Ghita

  • Published in Glory

Glory World Series has unlocked the video of the four man heavyweight tournament final from October 12th last year, between Rico Verhoeven and Daniel Ghita to get us ready for the rematch. This is one of the highest paced and exciting heavyweight fights I have seen for a long time. After watching this fight multiple times I still have a hard time choosing a winner. Ghita and Verhoeven used to be sparring partners, which explains why they seem to know each other so well and neither of them could land their signature techniques. Ghita is definitely the harder hitting fighter with more knockouts to his name, but his power seemed to fade early on in this fight due to Verhoeven pulling him into his technical and grinding style.

Will Ghita be able to get the knockout this time, or will Verhoeven grind out a 5 round decision, What do you think?

GLORY 17 Keeps Getting Bigger

GLORY 17

Damn.

So GLORY 17 and GLORY Last Man Standing -- okay, first of all, I'm not going to refer to them as different shows, because they are on the same night -- so, GLORY 17, is a really huge event. GLORY 17 at the Forum in Los Angeles is going to feature a whole lot of talent. As you can see from that graphic above, the fight that we all wanted to see between Andy Ristie and Ky Hollenbeck is finally going down! By the looks of it, this fight will be on the Spike TV card for free, which is great. It will serve as the Main Event for GLORY 17 on Spike TV.

The other big news is that GLORY has secured the final two names for the GLORY Last Man Standing Middleweight Championship Tournament. Those names are Filip Verlinden and Artem Levin. Levin was the lone holdout and was just announced on Tuesday. Oh Artem.

GLORY Announces GLORY 17 Los Angeles

  • Published in Glory

GLORY

This is, of course, why rumors are rumors. GLORY has announced GLORY 17 Los Angeles today. GLORY 17 Los Angeles is scheduled for June 21st at the Forum in Inglewood, California. No bouts have been announced just yet, but tickets are on sale starting on April 16th at the box office or ticketmaster.com.

This will be GLORY's first trip back to Los Angeles since GLORY 10 last year, which saw Joe Schilling conquer the Middleweight division in the Middleweight tournament, including a big win over Artem Levin. If I were a betting man I'd probably bet some money on Joe Schilling being on that card, but that is of course nothing official.
