Badr Hari vs. Patrice Quateron Official For GFC on Oct. 16th

  • Published in Kickboxing

Badr Hari's oft-disputed Facebook page made mention of a fight with Patrice Quarteron a while back and now we know that it is official; Badr Hari will fight Patrice Quarteron on October 16th in Dubai for Global Fighting Championship (GFC). If you'll remember back, you'll remember that Badr Hari fought on GFC 3, walking away with big money and two solid wins under his belt. So it looks like 2014 will continue to be the year that Badr Hari competes for big money outside of GLORY while fans of GLORY get upset that he hasn't signed with the organization.

Also on the card will be another 4-man Heavyweight tournament for 1 million dirhams featuring Melvin Manhoef vs. Hassan and Ismael Lazaar vs. Tai Tuivasa. We'll have more when it's available.

GFC 3 Featuring Badr Hari Internet PPV for $5

  • Published in Kickboxing

So Badr Hari will be fighting in just a matter of hours now (10:00am Eastern time) and yeah, we know, if you live in the United States there is absolutely nothing convenient about the timing for this event. It's early morning on a Thursday, not exactly the same thing as staying up for a K-1 or PRIDE event on the weekends like everyone was used to years ago by a long shot. That being said, if you can do it (or live in Europe), you'll only have to plonk down $5 USD to watch GFC 3 featuring Badr Hari, Peter Aerts, Peter Graham and Stefan Leko.

It's building up to be an interesting show, at least. $5 for an internet PPV (which most of you hate anyway) isn't bad by a longshot. So check it out here. We'll have a full rundown of the event later on in the day.

  • Published in Glory

There have been endless rumors swirling around about GLORY over the past few months, including rumors about certain fighters' contracts expiring. This doesn't exactly mean that these fighters are going to leave GLORY, but contract negotiations are a serious thing and money does speak louder than words or promises for a lot of fighters. One of which that we've known about for a while now is Gokhan Saki. There have been issues between GLORY management and Saki's team for a while now, only for the latest to be talk of his GLORY contract expiring and him having offers from promoters in Russia and Dubai (Dubai being where he's currently training).

What better way to confirm this than straight from the man himself? In an interview with The Fight Network Gokhan Saki confirms that his contract with GLORY has ended and that he would be open to renegotiating with them -- especially considering that he's the GLORY Light Heavyweight Champion -- and fighting before the year is through.
