Andrei Stoica vs. Horace Martin Set for SuperKombat's June 21st Show

  • Published in Kickboxing

June 21st will be a big day for the sport of Kickboxing with a few huge events and SuperKombat is looking to make their stick out more with Andrei Stoica defending his Super Cruiserweight Title against Horace Martin. This will be Andrei Stoica's first defense of the SuperKombat Super Cruiserweight Championship since he won the title back in December against Ondrej Hutnik.

Stoica's last fight was in the GLORY ring in March where he lost via first round knockout to Danyo Ilunga, although there is no shame in losing to a fighter the caliber of Danyo Ilunga. If anything it should inspire him to push harder and to want to prove that he does belong in the ring with the likes of Ilunga.

Expect more announcements on the SuperKombat June 21st show shortly.

Catalin Morosanu and Stoicas Victorious at SuperKombat in Italy

  • Published in Europe

SuperKombat presented their SuperKombat World Grand Prix Final Elimination event live from Italy today, featuring an array of fan favorites on the card. Those fan favorites all won their bouts of choice, some in more spectacular fashion than others. The main event saw Catalin Morosanu annihilate Tomasz Czerwinski in his professional kickboxing debut. All of those muscles on Czerwinski require quite a bit of air and those punches from Morosanu made it that much more difficult to breathe.

Andrei Stoica was victorious over Pavel Voronin and his brother Bogdan was also victorious against Patrick Veenstra. There was a disqualification on this card where the outmatched Matt Murdoch was tossed into the corner by Italian fighter Giuseppe de Domenico, clinched with two hands behind the head and hit with two knees in succession before the ref could break it up, with de Domenico throwing a parting right hand after the ref broke them up, forcing the DQ.

Jorge Loren on Tap for Andrei Stoica in Grudge Match at SuperKombat WGP Final

  • Published in Kickboxing

On Saturday November 7th SuperKombat returns to Bucharest, Romania with the SuperKombat World Grand Prix Final. This weekend SuperKombat announced the bombshell of a main event for the event in Andrei Stoica defending the SuperKombat Super Cruiserweight Championship against Jorge Loren. Loren was able to defeat Andrei's brother, Bogdan, last year, making this a grudge match of sorts between the two men.

Stoica is riding on an eight fight win streak heading into this battle with Loren, while Loren's last outing was just a matter of days ago at WFL's Unfinished Business where he was in a one-night tournament, defeating Reduoan Cairo in the first round of the tournament only to lost to Luis Tavares in the next round of the tournament. This is a pretty quick turnaround for Loren, but hopefully he'll be at his best against Stoica.

More on this card when it's available.
