Zakaria Zouggary Takes Shoot Boxing S-Cup Crown in Japan

  • Published in Asia

Shootboxing continued in the great Japanese kickboxing tradition of the S-Cup with the 2016 S-Cup this weekend, seeing Zakaria Zouggary once again prove himself to be one of the best kickboxers in the world by marching through his competition and into the finals where he beat MASAYA up, downing him three times before a flying knee secured him the title. From start-to-finish there was high drama, as there always is, including Hiroaki Suzuki defeating Hideki only to suffer a broken orbital bone, sending Hideki into the semi-finals only to lose. Crazy Horse made an appearance and MASAYA just brutalized him.

Andy Souwer, RENA and MIO also picked up big wins in single fights on the card, but he story should absolutely be Zouggary, though. Zouggary, who has put forth incredible performances under the S-Cup banner, walked away with two KOs and a decision to take the title.
