Yokkao 9 in China took place on May 24th in China, featuring a Muay Thai and K-1 rules card with fighters from China against fighters from all over the world. Yokkao packed 10,000 spectators in to watch the event and the main event had a lot of people talking, which can be considered a success. Here is a highlight video from the event showing not only the action inside of the ring but went on behind-the-scenes leading into the fights.
On June 29th in Azerbaijan there will be a card chock-full of top talent presented to fans, called Qabala Fight Series Azerbaijan. There is no card just yet, but we do know that the card will feature Albert Kraus, Hesdy Gerges, Mosab Amrani, Jamal Ben Saddik and Azerbaijan's Middleweight star Perviz Abdullayev.
The event will feature a one-night 8-man Middleweight tournament, but it's unclear who will be participating in the tournament just yet, outside of an assumption that Abdullayev will be featured in it. The event will be broadcast on EuroSport in Europe.
Glory World Series has unlocked the video of the four man heavyweight tournament final from October 12th last year, between Rico Verhoeven and Daniel Ghita to get us ready for the rematch. This is one of the highest paced and exciting heavyweight fights I have seen for a long time. After watching this fight multiple times I still have a hard time choosing a winner. Ghita and Verhoeven used to be sparring partners, which explains why they seem to know each other so well and neither of them could land their signature techniques. Ghita is definitely the harder hitting fighter with more knockouts to his name, but his power seemed to fade early on in this fight due to Verhoeven pulling him into his technical and grinding style.
Will Ghita be able to get the knockout this time, or will Verhoeven grind out a 5 round decision, What do you think?
