Hoost Vs. Aerts WKO The Kumite Energy Main Fights Announced

  • Published in Kickboxing

Earlier this month we announced that Ernesto Hoost would be Fighting Peter Aerts for the sixth time in  Osaka, Japan on October 19th. Hoost has won 3 of the 5, so this gives Aerts the chance to tie it up for good, since i doubt they will be fighting for a seventh time, but then again I never expected to see this fight again.

The rest of the WKO: The Kumite Energy main fights have now been announced and we get to see more of the old K-1 names we grew to love. Both Stephan Leko and Chalid "Die Faust" Arrab will be fighting. Leko has been fighting quite frequently lately but having no success at all, he is on a 6 fight losing streak, with the last 5 losses all coming by KO or TKO. If he can't turn it around this fight, we would have to imagine he cannot keep this up much longer. Die Faust on the other hand, has not been very active, hasn't fought since 2010 but has lost his last 5 fights and his last win was in 2006.

Fight Card

Peter Aerts (Holland) Vs. Ernesto Hoost (Holland)

Stefan Leko (Germany) Vs. Tofan Pirani (Sweden)

Andre Meunier (Australia) Vs. Chalid "Die Faust" Arrab (Germany/Morocco)

Yokohama Go (Japan) Vs. Sukmongkol (Thailand)

Peter Aerts vs. Dewey Cooper Featured on Global FC Card

  • Published in Kickboxing

GFC

The big story for many on the upcoming Global FC event is that Badr Hari will be fighting, but an interesting bit of information came out last week, with that being that Peter Aerts was set to fight Dewey Cooper on the event. I'll make this clear; I'm a huge Peter Aerts fan, always have been, always will be, and I want Peter Aerts to retire. I want Peter Aerts to enjoy his family, spend time with his children, run his gym, to live a long, healthy life.

That being said, a fight against Dewey Cooper seems about right for the time being. Dewey Cooper is an American fighter who has had a good deal of success here in the United States and abroad, but never was able to break through into that top echelon of fighters. Dewey Cooper is a fighter that can absolutely give Peter Aerts trouble, but is not a guy that I'm concerned about giving Aerts any sort of crazy concussion or really hurting Aerts. That isn't to say that Cooper can't win, because he could and he might, this is a pretty even fight. But, you know, Cooper is not Jamal Ben Saddik.

Here's a look at the rest of the card thus far.

  • Kamran Morovati vs. Darco Jeremic
  • Luke Jumeau vs. Hossein Mollamahdi
  • Gokhan Turkyilmaz vs. Voughn Donayre
  • Abbas Mollamahdi vs. Erkan Varol
  • Brian Douwes vs. Srdjan Seles
  • Singh Jaideep vs. Fatih Ulusoy
  • Peter Aerts vs. Dewey Cooper
  • Tournament: Arnold Oborotov vs. Peter Graham
  • Tournament:Badr Hari vs. Stefan Leko

  • Published in Kickboxing

There have been a literal ton of ALS Ice Bucket Challenge videos out in the wild. From just normal, everyday people to A-list celebrities. Most of these don't concern us, though, because, well, we cover kickboxing. Even then, lots of fighters have been participating in the ALS Ice Bucket challenge. This is Peter Aerts, though. Peter Aerts will always hold a special place in our hearts for being Mr. K-1. So let's watch Peter Aerts participate in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

Saint-Tropez Fight Night II set for Aug 4th

  • Published in Kickboxing

Saint-Tropez Fight Night have announced their sophomore event will take place on August 4th 2014 from the unique and beautiful venue of La Citadelle in Saint-Tropez, France. The card will be headlined by a heavyweight double-header featuring French kickboxing legend Jerome Le Banner and his fellow countryman Freddy Kemayo, as they square of against Daniel Sam and Peter Aerts respectively.

Many fans will remember the infamous debut of Saint-Tropez Fight Night last year, whereby Jerome Le Banner defended his WKN World Title and was subsequently presented the belt by Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone. Le Banner looks to pick up his second victory of 2014, as he stopped Luican Danilencu with body-shots back in May. Englishman Daniel Sam will look to get back in the winners circle after getting KO’d by Moroccan prospect Ismael Lazaar last weekend in London. To make it even worse for Sam, he’d lost his last three bouts previously as well, with all three losses coming in in dominant fashion.

Fresh of the announcement that he will meet long-time rival Ernesto Hoost in Japan later this year, ‘The Dutch Lumberjack’ Peter Aerts will also square off against Frenchman Freddy Kemayo. Kemayo enters the bout on a six-fight win streak, having not loss since November 2012.

Saint-Tropez Fight has also announced that all bouts will be contested under Muay Thai rules and at 95kgs. There are more bouts expected to be announced at a later date.

Fight Card

Jerome Le Banner vs. Daniel Sam
Peter Aerts vs. Freddy Kemayo
Correntin Jallon vs. Sergej Maslobojev
Nicolas Wamba vs. Arnold Oborotov
Vladimir Mineev vs. Mikhail Tuterev
